Gulab Jamun looks simple — golden dumplings in syrup — but getting it truly right takes practice, patience, and the right ingredients. Here's how we make ours at Habiba's Delight.
It starts with the dough
We use full-fat milk solids (khoya) kneaded to a smooth, crack-free dough. Too dry and the jamun turns hard; too wet and it falls apart in the syrup. Getting this balance right is the real secret.
Slow, gentle frying
We fry each dumpling slowly over low-medium heat so the inside cooks through evenly while the outside turns a deep golden brown — never rushed, never burnt.
The syrup makes all the difference
Our syrup is infused with real cardamom and a touch of rose water — not overly sweet, so the milky flavour of the jamun still shines through.
100% halal, always
Every ingredient we use, from the ghee to the flavourings, is halal. There's no compromise here — it's one of the values Habiba's Delight was built on.
